Cleveland, May 9, 2017 – The Air Service Development Team at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport (CLE) was recognized by Allegiant Air at the company’s annual airports conference, on April 28th, 2017 for outstanding commitment and service in helping the airline begin service at CLE.

“This recognition demonstrates the importance of building strong relations with our partners at Allegiant,” said Airport Director Robert Kennedy. “We strive to have great relationships with all of our airline partners and this is proof our efforts are working to lower airfares and add air service at CLE.”

The conference is an annual meeting hosted by Allegiant, CLE’s newest airline, for the airports they serve. Allegiant launched nonstop service from CLE on February 15th, 2017 to nine markets initially (Austin, Fort Lauderdale, Jacksonville, New Orleans, Orlando/Sanford, Phoenix/Mesa, Punta Gorda, Savannah and St. Pete/Clearwater).

The airline added Myrtle Beach service in April and they will add Destin/Ft. Walton Beach service on May 12th, 2017.

Allegiant’s Above and Beyond Award recognizes a partner airport that has promptly and effectively worked with the airline, responded to their requests and in the case of CLE, strongly supported the start-up of their new service.
