Starting February 1, 2026, travelers at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport (CLE) and airports nationwide will have access to TSA Confirm.ID, a new identity verification system for passengers who arrive at security checkpoints without a REAL ID compliant form of ID.

For a $45 fee, TSA Confirm.ID allows travelers to verify their identity for a 10-day travel period. This option is designed for those who do not yet have a REAL ID-compliant license or other approved identification. TSA recommends paying the fee online before arriving at the airport to help avoid delays.

Acceptable IDs include REAL ID-compliant driver’s licenses, U.S. passports, DHS trusted traveler cards, and other federally recognized documents.

A full list is available at TSA.gov.

TSA officials stress that identity verification is critical for security and encourage travelers to upgrade to a REAL ID as soon as possible. Passengers using TSA Confirm.ID at the airport should expect longer processing times.
