Frank D. Williams joined the City of Cleveland Department of Port Control as Assistant Director, Airport Operations and Public Safety in June 2025. He is currently responsible for prioritizing the well-being of both employees and passengers and fostering a culture of safety, collaboration, and excellence while implementing innovative strategies that enhance operational efficiency and improve the overall airport experience.
Assistant Director (AD) Williams is a graduate of both American Public University, where he earned a BS in Business Administration and Franklin University, where he earned a Master’s of Public Administration and is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Organization Leadership.
Throughout his career, AD Williams has demonstrated an unwavering passion for public service. His extensive background includes overseeing various aspects of public works operations, from infrastructure management and emergency response to customer service and staff management. Most recently, AD Williams served as the Director of Public Works for the City of Cleveland, where he led staff, colleagues, and the public in ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all. AD Williams also served as the Administrator of Infrastructure Management for the City of Columbus.
