Judy Takács - Goddess, Women, Dust and Rainbow
About the Art
With a hearty and respectful nod to the FRONT International and CAN Triennial Art exhibitions that took place all over Northeast Ohio this past summer, Judy Takács presents truthful, sensitive and realistic portraits of goddesses, muses, nuns, artists, mothers, heroes, icons and women; real and imagined. Best known for her Chicks series honoring unsung female heroines, Takács now paints figurative work for her Goddess Project, reimagining the characters from the stories and mythology of all religions through a contemporary feminist lens. Her goal is to create living, breathing human likenesses that invite the viewer to linger, connect and think…and also, if possible, to save the world one painting at a time.
