COVID-19 Update

Cleveland Hopkins International Airport (CLE) continues to sanitize and disinfect high traffic areas at the airport multiple times daily. Airport staff has developed and deployed sprayers that apply product in an effort to rapidly sanitize and disinfect large and high traffic areas at the Airport. CLE has installed shields at our information counter and police podiums. To assist our guests with social distancing, stickers have been placed around the facility to remind everyone to stay 6 feet apart. CLE has also designated line overflow locations on ticketing to maintain social distancing at peak travel times.

 

Parking Update

As of March 24, Ground Transportation has announced that until June 1, parking in the Smart Parking Garage, Orange, Red, and Blue Lots are free of charge - this includes passengers and employees. The Brown Lot is closed at this time. Curbside Valet is also temporarily closed.

*The Airport will begin charging for parking as of June 1, 2020. Rates remain the same, anyone (customers) who parks in the lot prior to June 1st will not be charged for the term of their parking, anyone parking in Airport lots as of June 1st will be charged the daily rate.

 

Airlines to Require Passengers to Wear Face Coverings

Delta and United have joined JetBlue requiring passengers to wear face coverings beginning Monday, May 4th.  Starting May 8th, Frontier will require face coverings followed by American, Southwest and Alaska on May 11th.  Delta, JetBlue and Frontier will make them mandatory from the time they check in through the time they deplane.  Delta, which says customers can take them off for meals, will also require them in its Sky Club lounges.

TSA Screening Location

As of Friday, May 8th, TSA has shifted checkpoint operations from Central to South checkpoint including TSA Pre-Check. 

*Please note, while we don’t have a lot of passengers flying right now, we only have one TSA checkpoint open so it’s still important to arrive early for your flight.

Protecting our People

Our passengers, partners and employees are our main priority, to that end we’ve instituted the following measures in order to ensure everyone’s safety traveling, working and visiting CLE. Installed extra hand sanitizing stations have been added throughout the airport Increased frequency of cleaning efforts to disinfect restrooms, surfaces throughout the airport and other public areas with cleaning products intended to kill germs. Increased overhead announcements sharing social distancing and steps for recommended hygiene and hand washing are played throughout the terminals Parking is now free until further notice for all visitors and employees Non-essential staff is working from home to avoid unnecessary exposure while reducing the overall number of people required to come to the airport on a daily basis.

 

Facility Update

Effective Tuesday, April 7th, CLE is closing the South escalators (nearest to United) located between the ticket counter/departures level and arrivals/bag claim in both directions for 6 weeks for scheduled maintenance.

In compliance with the Governor’s order, sit down restaurants have been closed as of March 16th. A variety of to-go dining and shopping options still remain open throughout CLE:

Travel Restrictions

Ohio Governor Mike Dewine has ordered a Stay at Home order restricting all non-essential travel.
