The Hopkins Hangout Pass is available for the personal use of non-ticketed airport guests who would like to access the secure side of the terminal at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport. The Hopkins Hangout Pass permits guests to assist family and friends to their gate, greet loved ones arriving on domestic flights, and discover airport offerings, including restaurants, bars, and shops.
Step 1: Apply Online
Hopkins Hangout Pass applications can be submitted as early as seven (7) days but no later than one (1) day in advance of your proposed visit date. Same-day applications are not permitted.
The Hopkins Hangout Pass application requires the following information: first and last name (as it appears on your passport or driver’s license), date of birth, gender, email, reason for visiting, and a copy of both sides of your government-issued ID or passport.
Once you’ve submitted your application, you will receive an email confirming receipt of your request from hangoutpass@clevelandairport.com.
The Hopkins Hangout Pass program is limited to 100 visitors per day. You can view the number of passes remaining for a specified day on the application page.
Step 2: Receive your approved Hopkins Hangout Pass
Your application will be reviewed by TSA to determine your approval status.
Per TSA rules, you will receive an email confirmation after 12:00 AM (midnight) on the day of your proposed visit notifying you of your approval status.
If you are approved for entry, you will receive an email from hangoutpass@clevelandairport.com containing your digital Hopkins Hangout Pass.
Step 3: Arrive at the airport & enter through a TSA security checkpoint.
On the day of your visit, enter the airport through the North or South TSA checkpoints. Participants are not permitted to enter through Pre-Check or CLEAR lanes, and may only enter through the Central checkpoint if both the North and South checkpoints are closed.
Be sure to have your approved digital Hopkins Hangout Pass and your photo ID or passport to be permitted through security. Printed passes will not be accepted.
Hopkins Hangout Pass program participants are subject to the same security regulations as ticketed passengers, including security wait times. Please review all security reminders to ensure your access to the secure side of the airport terminal will be granted.
Step 4: Discover the airport
Take time to explore the airport’s extensive offerings, including restaurants, bars, and shops.
Entry with a valid Hopkins Hangout Pass is available starting at 7:00 AM. While the Pass is valid until 10:00 PM, the last entry through security is at 9:00 PM. See https://www.clevelandairport.com/airport/tsa-security for TSA security checkpoint hours of operation.
All Hopkins Hangout Passes expire at 10:00 PM., at which time all participants must exit the secure side of the airport terminal.
Hopkins Hangout Passes are valid for one-time use and only on the date that appears on your digital pass. Once through airport security, visits are limited to a maximum of six (6) hours.

Before arriving at the airport, ensure you have received an email from hangoutpass@clevelandairport.com confirming that your Hopkins Hangout Pass has been approved. Be sure to have your digital Hopkins Hangout Pass and valid government-issued photo ID handy when you reach the TSA security checkpoint.
All Hopkins Hangout Pass program participants must enter through the standard security checkpoint lanes available at our North or South checkpoints. Participants may not enter through Pre-Check or CLEAR lanes, and may only enter through the Central TSA checkpoint if both the North and South checkpoints are closed.
An ID or passport that matches the full name appearing on your digital Hopkins Hangout Pass is required at the TSA security checkpoint. Only valid forms of identification accepted by TSA can be used for the Hopkins Hangout Pass program.
No more than one personal item is permitted through the TSA security checkpoint for Hopkins Hangout Pass participants. Personal items are limited to a purse, small bag, or briefcase, and all items are subject to search.

All Hopkins Hangout Pass participants, including minors under the age of 18, must complete an application and receive an approved digital Hopkins Hangout Pass.
Any applications for minors under the age of 18 must list an adult over the age of 18 who is also applying for a Hopkins Hangout Pass. You can add another applicant by clicking the “Add Another Visitor” button under the “Visitor 1 Information” section.
