After completing the planning phase of its Sustainability Management Plan, CLE has officially launched Phase 2—moving from strategy to action. The plan outlines how the airport will continue reducing its environmental impact while supporting long-term growth and working toward its goal of achieving net-zero Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.
Over the coming years, travelers can expect continued progress through projects focused on energy efficiency, sustainable infrastructure, waste reduction, cleaner transportation, and climate resilience—all designed to create a more sustainable airport for future generations.
Sustainability is a long-term journey, and Phase 2 marks another important milestone as CLE continues building a greener future for Northeast Ohio.
