Taxis

Effective June 12, 2009, Cleveland Hopkins International Airport (CLE) will operate its long-awaited taxicab service program.  Originally proposed in the spring 0f 2007, the taxicab service program is designed to dramatically improve service to our customers with new vehicles dedicated to the airport, GPS technology, in-cab cameras, a pre-set rate structure, and drivers who receive enhanced customer service training.  CLE will have a fleet of 75 white white vehicles with the airport’s logo prominently displayed available for passengers leaving the airport.  Three taxicab companies have been awarded contracts to jointly operate outbound service from CLE: Ace Taxi, Yellow Cab Company and Americab.  Standard Parking, which manages the parking lots and garages at CLE, will oversee the operation.

Each taxicab management company will be responsible for operating a designated number of taxicabs from the airport – Ace will operate 35 cabs, Yellow Cab will operate 25 cabs and Americab will operate 15 cabs – and are permitted to provide service from the airport; however, all taxicab companies will continue to drop off passengers departing from CLE.  

Taxi Rates are based on mileage and are flat rates.  Tips are appreciated but, not required.  All companies take credit cards.
