Downtown Cleveland Lakefront Development RFQ

Downtown Cleveland is experiencing unprecedented investment and economic growth, with more than $2 billion in investment taking place and planned in the past few years.  Thousands of new housing units are rapidly entering the market in an attempt to meet the record demand for downtown apartments.  Meanwhile, major catalytic projects like the recently-opened Horseshoe Casino, the new Global Center for Health Innovation and Convention Center, and the rebirth of the Flats East Bank neighborhood has helped to generate surge in downtown visitors.

This considerable economic growth is occurring at an advantageous time, as the City of Cleveland aims to leverage this momentum with development of the downtown lakefront.  Cleveland’s Downtown Lakefront Plan aims to build off the City’s current waterfront assets – including the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, Great Lakes Science Center, FirstEnergy Stadium, and Voinovich Park – and create a world-class mixed-use waterfront district.  The Plan provides direction for the development of nearly 20 acres of property along the Lake Erie shoreline with the goal of infusing a sustainable and complimentary assortment of entertainment, dining, hospitality, office and public waterfront access.
