CLEVELAND, June 21, 2012 – Cleveland Hopkins International Airport (CLE) once again has been recognized by industry leaders for its marketing and advertising efforts in 2011. Airport Council International – North America (ACI-NA) recognized CLE for its annual Plane Pull event benefiting Special Olympics Ohio (SOOH) during the 2012 Excellence in Marketing and Communications Contest in Sacramento, CA.
“We are proud and honored to receive this recognition for the annual Plane Pull,” said Airport Director Ricky Smith. “Heading into our third year hosting this event, we are amazed by the number of people who ask about it; participate in it, and who support it.”
ACI-NA awarded CLE 3rd place for the Annual Plane Pull in the Special Events category.
CLE was one of nearly 50 airports and airport authorities in the U.S. and Canada that submitted a recorded 250 entries into the marketing and advertising contest hosted by ACI-NA. The contest encompasses categories that recognize work in marketing and public relations, and provides airports the opportunity to be honored for the quality of their work. Awards were distributed in 20 categories ranging from brochures, advertising, marketing and public relations campaigns, newsletters, special events, and video and film production.
Award winners were recognized in June in Sacramento, CA at the 2012 Marketing and Communications Conference and JumpStart Air Development Program which CLE hosted in 2011.
